Let’s see...

Toddler with what I’m guessing is strep throat meaning temperature, and mooooodinesssssss

A wife who worked a 12 hour shift on Saturday, slept in til 11 on Sunday, and also had a 4 hour commitment meaning that toddler was all my responsibility

Didn’t get to go look at the 944 I had my eye on and put an acquaintance out to arrange looking at it.

Not to mention my wife trashing the friendship with one person who was going to teach me to drive manual

Maybe I should just settle for an automatic ford Capri Mark ii

Kinja'd!!!

Here is hoping for a better week. Ha!

Only if the plans for that Capri include a SuperCoupe 3.8SC and a manual swap. be bad as hell then. they aren’t too bad with the 2.8 option if it’s a 4 speed.

Yeah, it'd just be nice to have some minuscule amount of confidence that I'll get home safely when I go to buy a car.

I was trying to research swaps and was hitting dead ends. I was thinking a 2.3 turbo out of a thunderbird may be easy and give it enough go.

Sorry to hear about all the bullshit.

Love the capri. Those wheels are pretty bad though.

My story of driving stick: learned back when I was 15 on my brothers friends truck, then drove automatics for a while. Got my 335i last fall in stick and started daily driving it. Within a week I was pretty confident in my ability. Now, many months later, I feel extremely comfortable driving stick. I love it!

From experiance, buying a manual is the quickest way to learn. If its an urban environment and your in traffic itll probly take less than 30 minutes to become proficient.

Sink or swim is surprisingly a great way to learn stick. Hell it’s the only way I’ve been able to drive a stick confidently. Though someone should teach you at least the basics so you don’t immedietly sink.

Hmm, I may have you beat. I had a brake line blow on sunday on an freeway off-ramp. I also coincidentally was having serious gastric trouble that morning due to some bad mexican food. The visit the bathroom every 45 minutes kind. I managed not to crash, and made it to a gas station where I promptly punished their toilet, then had to replace my brake hose.

I did notice I left out the fact that my toddler puked three times and I got some on me each time, but yeah; you win because serious injury was a possibility.

Good thing you didn’t have the toddler over your head with your mouth open during one of those moments!!!
(. . .he says with that moment of personal, introspective, still horrified, schadenfreude. . .)
